     Cheong Fatt Tze (1841-1916), was born in 1841 in Dapu County, Chaozhou, Guangdong (now Dapu County, Meizhou City),. He is known as China's Rockefeller.

He sailed across the sea to Jakarta, Indonesia (formerly known as Dutch east India Batavia) at 16 years old. He once worked as a helper, opened trading company,~~~ and ~~~exploited tin ore mining,~~~ and ~~~finally became a leading wealth among overseas Chinese. From then on, he served as governmental officer as well as business owner,~~~ and ~~~began his official career. He once served as Consul of the Qing Dynasty in Penang Pulau, consul-general in Singapore~~~ and ~~~other high ranking posts. In order to promote the industry of motherland, he successively invested YueHan Railway, Chaoshan Railway, Guangsan Railway, etc.,~~~ and ~~~founded Shandong Yantai Changyu Wine Company, so he is known as “the father of Chinese wine”.
