On August 27, the first-stage project of Changyu International Wine City—Production Center which covers an area of over 6,000 mu invested with RMB 2.5 Billion Yuan by Changyu, the leading wine enterprise in China, was fully put into operation after nearly five-year construction, which marks that the industrialized brewing of Chinese wine has reached an advanced level in the world.
It is known that with accumbent oak barrels’ architectural appearance, the plant of this production center covers an area of 270 thousand square meters, making it the biggest single wine and brandy production plant all over the world. The production center consists of six functional areas— brewing area, wine storage area, mixing area, bottling area, underground cellar and warehousing logistics area. After the completion and full operation, the production center will produce 250 thousand tons of wine and 150 thousand tons of brandy annually.

Wang Yanling, the manager of Changyu Wine Research, Development and Manufacture Co., Ltd. said that the production center imported 10 advanced automatic bottling lines in the world from Europe and was equipped with the current world-class automatic examining and monitoring equipment, realizing bottle checking, liquid level checking, cork checking, cap checking, label checking, code-spurting checking, etc. What’s more, the whole process tracking of product quality is also available here. Several new technologies and equipment are leading the world. Due to the supermatic and informatized management,N the production efficiency is triple of the old plant and the labor has been declined to one third.

Zhou Hongjiang, the general manager of Changyu Company, said that currently Changyu completed the layout of 8 domestic chateaus and 3 overseas chateaus which would reserve capacity for Changyu’s scale expansion in next ten to twenty years, thereby, meeting the demand for global competition of Changyu.
After all the projects are completed, Changyu International Wine City will create new economic growth points for Yantai as a new tourist landmark of Yantai. As the only international grape and wine city in Asia, Yantai will further improve its international influence.
