Changyu——Marques del Atrio 2017 International Strategy Conference Was Successfully Held in Navarra

At 12:00 a.m. on June 23, Changyu Pioneer Wine Co., Ltd. held the International Strategic Plan Conference at Marques del Atrio in Navarra, Spain. Over 100 honored guests were present at the conference, including Mr. Wang Yingqi, a counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office  of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Spain, Mr. Zhou Hongjiang, the general manager of Changyu Company, Mr. Sun Jian, the deputy general manager of Changyu Company, Mr. Jesus Rivero, the director of Marques del Atrio, Mr. José Ignacio Ceniceros, the district mayor of Rioja, Ms. Isabel Elizalde, the minister of the Ministry of Agriculture of Navarra, important members of the government in the two municipalities, Chinese and western representatives and media representatives.

Mr. Zhou Hongjiang, the general manager of Changyu Pioneer Wine Co., Ltd., made a speech on the stage in the first place. He firstly gave his sincere thanks to all the guests for attending Changyu International Strategic Plan Conference. At the conference, Mr. Zhou briefly looked back to the four stages of Changyu Company since its establishment. Later, he introduced four major products of Changyu Company as well as its characteristic brands to the present guests in detail, namely home-made wine, home-made brandy, imported wine and imported brandy respectively. Thereinto, the most famous is the home-made wine, which has 450 brands in total. At present, Changyu Noble Dragon, a well-sold product of Changyu Company, has been sold in Spain, whose annual sales volume is predicted to rank in the top 10 in the world. Furthermore, it has been served at the state banquets of China for 6 consecutive years, which became a special wine at Hangzhou G20 Summit in 2016.

Through Marques del Atrio, Changyu Noble Dragon has been successfully sold in many supermarkets such as Carrefour, Elcorte ingles and Alcampo in Spain. In this cooperation with Marques del Atrio, Changyu Company valued the dedication and professionalism of several generations of their family. Due to the trust in the Atrio Group, Changyu Company relied on the original team instead of hiring new employees after the acquisition. Mr. Zhou said that he hoped to help Marques del Atrio increase the sales amount in virtue of the cooperation between Changyu and Marques del Atrio and make the sales amount of Marques del Atrio rank in the top 10 in Spain in five years. Meanwhile, Changyu will vigorously promote the products of Marques del Atrio in China to get recognition from the Chinese market and aim to be the first Spanish brand in China. He wished the cooperation between these two companies would increase the sales amount of Changyu in Spain and even in Europe, thus improving the ranking in the international market.

Later, Mr. Jesus Rivero, the general manager of Marques del Atrio, made a speech on the stage and gave a brief introduction to the chateau and the history of the family. Marques del Atrio is a synonym of a growing family developed with five consecutive generations’ assiduous efforts in the production and sale of wine. At present, Marques del Atrio is under the management of the fourth and fifth generations of the family, which is participating in a more ambitious plan. In September 2015, Changyu, the largest wine group in China, became the main shareholder of this chateau, which brings Marques del Atrio a leap-forward progress both in quality and quantity.

In 2007, the sales volume of the whole Marques del Atrio was less than 5 million bottles and the sales amount was less than EUR 10 Million. But nowadays, its sales amount has reached EUR 40 Million and its sales volume has reached 23 million bottles. In the past two years after joining hands with Changyu, Marques del Atrio has witnessed a dramatic change, which develops from a family firm to a professional group active in 40 countries of five continents. He hoped that Marques del Atrio would rank in top 6 chateaus in Spain in 2020 with the sales amount increasing to over EUR 100 Million through hard work. Meanwhile, he also indicated that the Chinese wine market was still in the starting period, while the wine of Marques del Atrio was very cost-effective and quite popular in the Chinese market. Therefore, he gave thanks to Changyu for its trust in Marques del Atrio in the project again.

Soon afterwards, all the honored guests took a group photo on the stage to jointly mark this important occasion. Under the guidance and interpretation of the chateau workers, all the people visited Marques del Atrio, vineyards, production and brewing workshops as well as canning workshops. The world-class technologies and strict supervision and control gained admiration from all the honored guests on the scene.

After the visit, people tasted Changyu Nobel Dragon and the characteristic red wine of Marques del Atrio in the garden of Marques del Atrio.
