Summary:
China achieved a historic breakthrough at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards by winning
two “Best in Show” titles for the first time—marking a major milestone for Chinese and Asian
wines. The awards went to two red wines: the “Geruihong” blend from Dongfang Yuxing
Winery in Ningxia and the “Noble Dragon N188” from the long-established Changyu winery in
Shandong. These top honors were further complemented by a Platinum medal for Li’s Estate
Cabernet Sauvignon 2022, also from Ningxia. Ten more Chinese wines earned Gold medals,
including the country’s only awarded sparkling wine. Ningxia emerged as the standout region,
collecting 81 medals and reinforcing its status as China’s leading wine-producing area. In total,
Chinese wines received 181 medals—2 Best in Show, 1 Platinum, 10 Gold, 62 Silver, and 106
Bronze—an all-time high that highlights China’s growing international recognition in the wine
world.
