The shop is located in the neighbourhood of „Schindlers Factory“, an very important facility in
the polish and german history during the second world war. Due to historical protection it is
not allowed to modernize the „look“.
Oskar Schindler’s factory, the Deutsche Emailwarenfabrik (DEF), was located in Kraków during
World War II. There, Schindler employed over 1,000 Jewish forced laborers, whom he
deliberately protected from deportation and murder in concentration camps. He used his
connections and wealth to pay bribes and to present his workers as “essential for the war
effort.” In doing so, he saved many Jews who would otherwise have fallen victim to the
Holocaust. Today, the factory stands as a symbol of human courage and compassion amidst the
horrors of Nazism.
