As the members of President Xi Jinping's delegation to South Korea, Changyu and Moon had a rewarding visit. Both presidents of the two enterprises were so busy with making friends, discussing cooperation and signing project contracts in Seoul that their business cards were not enough to exchange. Yesterday, the reporter interviewed President Sun Liqiang of Changyu Group and President Yu Yuanbo of Moon Group and reproduced the two presidents’ visit to South Korea.

Business “Relatives”First

Coincidentally, the two presidents visited their business partners on their first stop in South Korea.

On July 3, President Yu Yuanbo of Moon Group visited Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. Hyundai Heavy Industries is Hyundai Group's core business. It has now developed into one of the world's leading integrated heavy industries enterprises with its advanced technology and marketing networks throughout the world. Yantai Moon Group is one of China's top 100 machinery enterprises in scale and economic benefits.

The cooperation between Moon and Hyundai Heavy Industries can be traced back to May 2004 when they established Yantai Hyundai Moon Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., a China-South Korea joint venture, in Yantai Economic and Technological Development Area with an investment of more than $ 20 million for its first phase. The joint venture mainly engages in the production and sale of power generation and cogeneration circulating fluidized bed boiler and power generation equipment. Hyundai Heavy Industries chooses to invest in Yantai because Yantai Moon Group is a very outstanding enterprise, but more importantly, Yantai has a good investment climate.

In Seoul, President of Changyu Group visited Renchang Trading Company, Changyu's general agent in South Korea which has more than 3,000 stores in the country. The brisk sale of Yantai Guniang (a kind of liquor product of Changyu) in South Korea benefits from Renchang's complete sales network.

On July 4, President Xi Jinping and President Park Geun-hye held a small-scale symposium with entrepreneur representatives from China and South Korea before the China-South Korea Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum. Chinese representatives present at the forum included President Tian Guoli of Bank of China, President Wang Xiaochu of China Telecom,  President Ren Zhengfei of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., President Robin Li of Baidu, Chairman of the Board Jack Ma of Alibaba Group ,etc. President Sun Liqiang of Changyu Group was also invited.

“Among the four to five hundred Chinese and South Korean enterprise representatives participating the forum, only 15 Chinese enterprise representatives can be invited to the symposium. These enterprises all hold leading positions in various industries.” Mr. Chen Guangsong, Manager of South Korea Marketing Department of Changyu Group who participated in this trip to South Korea, told the reporter. President Xi Jinping not only talked with the 15 representatives, but took photos with them.

Compared with the previous ones, this forum is the largest, the representatives of which are of highest level. South Korean entrepreneurs fought fiercely for the opportunities to take part in the symposium. Finally, 15 South Korean representatives took part in the symposium including Mr. Chung Mong Koo, President of Hyundai Motor Co.; Mr. Koo Bon-Moo, President of LG Group; Mr. Kim Chang-geun, Chairman of SUPEX Pursuit Association under SK Group; Mr. Lee Jae-yong, Vice President of Samsung Electronics, and Mr. Shin Dong-Bin, President of Lotte Group etc.

Breakthrough of Changyu Sanbian Wine into South Korean Market

“Yantai Guniang has become the first brand among imported liquors in South Korean, accounting for 50% of imported liquors. Its sales volume reached 130,000 cases with a sales income of RMB 10 million yuan.”Mr. Chen Guangsong has witnessed the rise of Yantai Guniang in South Korea. Thanks to this trip to South Korea, Changyu will deepen its cooperation with Renchang Trading Company to further promote the sale of Yantai Guniang and find inroad into the market for Changyu Sanbian Wine in its more than 3,000 stores. Meanwhile, Changyu will corporate with Lotte Liquor Co., the biggest enterprise for alcoholic beverage import and retail in South Korea, to tap South Korean market for Changyu’s wine and icewine.

On the morning of July 5, Mr. Sun Liqiang visited Lotte World accompanied by Changyu’s agent in South Korea. Opened on July 12, 1989, Lotte World has been listed into Guinness World Records as world’s largest indoor theme park, a world-class theme park on par with Disneyland of the United States. Located in the downtown area of Seoul, its theme park is an ideal place for entertainment and sightseeing with adventurous entertainment facilities, cool skating rink, huge lake, various performance theaters and folk arts museum etc. In addition to the theme park, Lotte World boasts large department stores, restaurants, duty-free stores, large discount shopping mall, and sports center etc., forming a city within city.
