According to the statistics from Yantai Wine Industry Working Conference held recently, Yantai was the largest wine production base in China. 

It is reported that in 2014, 30,000 mu of wine grape base was newly increased in Yantai, there were 59 chateaux built up or under construction in the whole city and the 1stphase production line of Changyu International Wine City with an investment of 6 Billion Yuan was expected to go into operation this year. The construction projects of Changyu International Wine City include seven thematic functional zones of Wine Production Center, Grape and Wine Research Institute, Wine Chateau Tinlot, Brandy Chateau Koyac, Pioneer International Wine Trading Center, Hayner Wine Town, Grape Planting Demonstration Park, which will be completed and put into operation next year.
