Changyu Winning Four Gold Medals in Berliner Wein Trophy

On the first working day after the Spring Festival of 2018, the largest Chinese wine producer Changyu Company greeted a good start: on the 22nd Berliner Wein Trophy just ending, 4 wines of Changyu stood out from over 6,700 wines across the world to win four gold medals, which were respectively: 2015 Moser Family Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red and 2016 Moser Legend Cabernet Sauvignon Dry White produced by Chateau Changyu Moser XV Ningxia as well as 2015 Golden Diamond and Blue Diamond icewine produced by Liaoning Chateau Changyu Golden Icewine Valley.

Berliner Wein Trophy is a wine competition held under the joint supervision of International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and International Winemaker’s Union (UIOE) and is called “the most important wine competition in the world”. It is introduced that there are 198 judges in the 22ndBerliner Wein Trophy, who are divided into 35 groups and carry out review according to the rules made by International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).


It is learned that Chateau Changyu Moser XV Ningxia and Liaoning Chateau Changyu Golden Icewine Valley are Chinese wine brands with the highest reputation in European market following Changyu Noble Dragon Dry Red. Since their entering the sales shoppe of British royal vintner BBR for the first time in 2013, dry red and dry white produced by Chateau Changyu Moser XV Ningxia have been sold to 14 countries in Europe, and the icewine produced by Liaoning Chateau Changyu Golden Icewine Valley also draws the attention of many famous wine critics in Europe, for example, Jancis Robinson, one of the authors ofThe World Atlas of WineandThe Oxford Companion to Wineas well as world WM, once gave a high mark of 16 points (with 20 points as the full mark) for the 2009 golden diamond icewine of Liaoning Chateau Changyu Golden Icewine Valley,N and called it was “extremely charming” in her tasting note.
