Chateau Changyu Golden Ice Wine Valley in Liaoning is located beside Huanlong Lake in Liaoning, which has the reputation of "Eastern Ontario". The Chateau is jointly built by Changyu and Orose Company, which has the largest ice wine export volume in Canada. The Chateau has the world's largest ice grape plantation with an area of 5000 Mu and the capacity of 1000 tons, accounting for half of global production of ice wine.

The Chateau locates at northern latitude 41 degrees, where a cold environment of 8 ℃ below zero can be ensured at the right time, so here is the best area for ice grape growing. The Chateau lies in ranges of Changbai Mountain, with the altitude of 380 meters. Situated near the mountain and by the river, the vineyards are exposed to the sun and on slight slopes, which are conducive to the formation of microclimate in the lake region where it is warm in summer with big temperature difference between day and night and it is cold but not dry in winter. Especially in the first and second ten-day periods of December, there is sufficient guarantee for the frozen of grapes for over 24 hours under natural condition of 8℃ below zero, so as to ensure the production of ice grape wine each year, and this is the advantage even beyond the reach of Niagara lake region, the ice wine producing area in Canada.

Albert Milan, who comes from Canada, “the capital of ice wine”, serves as chief winemaker of the Chateau, and devotes himself to brewing the best ice wine in the world. Mr. Milan said, "A lot of people believe ice wine from Canada is the best in the world. However, ice wine from Chateau Changyu Golden Ice Wine Valley is not inferior to it. The Brix degrees of our grape juice can reach above 350 grams per liter (Brix 35 °), which exceeds the standards of Canadian Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) and International Organization for Vine and Wine (OIV)."

In September 2009, Chateau Changyu Golden Ice Wine Valley has been granted non-terminable exclusive right for appellations of origin of "Huanren ice wine", and Changyu became the only Chateau that has exclusive use right for the geographical indication for wine products.

At present, ice wines from Chateau Changyu Golden Ice Wine Valley have been exported to Canada, Germany, Austria, the UK, and other European and American countries.According to the report of German Wine Business International (MWBI) on March 9, 2012, "Ice wine, from Changyu Company China, will start to supply for first-class cabins of Asia routes of German Lufthansa since the autumn of 2012." At the end of 2012, Wein & Co chain store, which has the largest sales network in Austria, started selling Changyu golden valley ice wine. On March 21, 2013, BBR, a British royal vintner founded in 1698, announced that it will set up permanent sales counter for ice wines of golden diamond, blue diamond and black diamond class from Chateau Changyu Golden Ice Wine Valley in Liaoning.
