Ningxia Helan Mountain areas

Changyu Ningxia grape base, located in Eastern foot of Helan Mountain, Ningxia, is most promising high-quality wine producing area in China. Ningxia base belongs to temperate arid climate zone, with long sunshine time, rich light power resources, and large temperature difference between day and night. It is dry and has less rainfail, and the annual rainfall is less than 200 mm, irrigation can be controlled through water from Yellow River.

The region is Yellow River alluvial plain, and the soil is mainly sandy soil, with gravel and varying degrees of loess, so the soil is relatively poor, which can make the grapes take roots deep into the soil to absorb nutrients. Grapes grown here has the characteristics of low yield, fewer pests, perfect proportion of fruit sugar, acidity, and phenolics, varying types of flavor composition and other advantages.

The main grape varieties in the vineyards are: Cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah, Italian Riesling, Chardonnay, etc. They are mainly distributed in Qingtongxia, Yongning and others areas. The white wine produced here has the aroma of pear, nectarine, lime, citrus, linden flower and acacia flower, with pure and fresh taste and vitality. The red wine produced here has aromas of plum, black berries, and hay, with fine tannins and balanced and mellow body.
